Panel Discussion on "Entrepreneurial Policies & Challenges in Digital Era"
A Panel discussion on "Entrepreneurial Policies & Challenges in Digital Era" was held on Friday, 19th Nov starting from 5.30 P.M. - 7.30 P.M. (SLST) by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka and GEN Pakistan. The panelists of the discussion were from different parts of the world like the United Kingdom, Canada, Malta, Botswana, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Developing a sustainable Digital Stratergy for Startups
Huawei Cloud led a workshop on creating a sustainable digital strategy for startups on the 18th of November 2022 at 11 am (IST). Anthony Chritson, BDM Cloud Services, Asia Pacific Cloud Business Development Department, Huawei Cloud, spoke throughout the workshop. The Huawei SPARK Accelerator Program, which supports companies and aids in bridging the digital and societal divide, was also discussed by the speaker throughout the discussion. In keeping with global entrepreneurship week, the session was held at the World Trade Center in Colombo.
MOU Signing between ICTA and Brandix for Spiralation
"The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka launched the Spiration program in 2010 with the goal of supporting the startup ecosystem and seed funding for tech startups in Sri Lanka. The Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony for the Spiralation Initiative between the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka and Brandix Lanka Ltd took place on November 17, 2022, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, in keeping with the GEW themes. The Spiralation program received a grant from Brandix Lanka Ltd in order to distribute it to 10 of the program's chosen startups. The ten startups that received grants from the Spiralation program were highlighted during this ceremony, along with their presentations and products. Global Business Forum for Global Entrepreneurship Week
The National Institute of Business Management in Sri Lanka organized the international business forum for aspiring entrepreneurs, which included a panel discussion and a quiz. Over 300 young university students between the ages of 17 and 23 attended the event, which was held at the auditorium of NIBM, Colombo 7. The keynote speakers at this event were Dr. D.M.A. Kulasooriya, Prof. Ananda Jayawardane, and Dr. Jeevan Gnanam, who spoke about entrepreneurship, how to prevent the emigration of Sri Lanka's talented workforce, and what skill sets are necessary for the workplace. The university students were given gifts totaling 50,000 LKR at the session's conclusion.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2022 Launch
The Global Entrepreneurship Network is an organization that operates projects and programs in 200 countries aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere, to start and scale a business. Chief among these is Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a massive campaign to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs worldwide. Happening from the 14th to the 20th of November, it brings together 10 million people across 200 countries at events and activities organized by 20,000 partners to inspire them to act and provide tools for entrepreneurship. With the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) named the host of GEW in Sri Lanka for the next 3 years, the initiative is poised to break barriers and open doors to entrepreneurship for all in Sri Lanka.
